EdgeMode plans to develop the 300MW Malpica AI project in Mora, Toledo, Spain. This significant data center campus is being developed in partnership with Bloom Energy and is designed to support artificial intelligence workloads and high-performance computing. The initiative represents an investment of €3 billion and aims to be part of a European network of specialized facilities.
The campus will feature its own power generation infrastructure, utilizing 30 10MW fuel cell modules from Bloom Energy powered by natural gas. This approach is intended to reduce deployment time and overcome challenges related to conventional grid capacity. EdgeMode anticipates an 18 to 24-month operational entry from the start of construction.
Mora was selected for its proximity to Madrid and strong local authority relationships.
