Numant-IA

Numant-IA is a new-generation data center project by the Spanish Ministry of Defense, located in Soria, Spain. This strategic technological hub will combine private cloud infrastructure, advanced cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence to enhance the country's technological and data capabilities.

Scheduled to begin operations in early 2028, the facility is being built on a 37,000 square meter plot. It will provide the Spanish Armed Forces with a secure and resilient environment for critical data, ensuring high availability, operational continuity, and protection of sensitive information.

The infrastructure will form part of an independent private cloud, crucial for reducing external dependencies and strengthening digital sovereignty in defense. Numant-IA is expected to serve as a Center for Advanced Technological Capabilities, supporting secure processing of classified data, advanced AI analytics, and early threat detection for national security. It will also function as a dual platform, accommodating military functions alongside R&D projects and civilian applications.

This initiative is part of the government's institutional decentralization strategy, placing critical infrastructure in provinces facing demographic challenges. Numant-IA aims to strengthen the Ministry of Defense while stimulating the local technological ecosystem, creating opportunities for universities, IT companies, and specialized service providers. It is positioned as a key asset for technological sovereignty and digital resilience in Spain.
