Grupo VDR is developing Campus Data Navarra, a large-scale data center campus in Gazólaz, just outside Pamplona. The project will span 200,000 square meters and deliver 300MW of total power capacity across four buildings. With an estimated investment of €3.3 billion, it aims to become the largest data center in northern Spain and a strategic digital hub for sectors like AI, cloud computing, and telecommunications.
Construction is scheduled in phases between 2027 and 2029. The first phase will include a 50MW facility, followed by three additional buildings of 100MW each. The site benefits from pre-urbanized land, proximity to major highways (A-12 and A-15), and access to a 220kV substation in Orkoien. These factors are expected to accelerate deployment and ensure robust energy connectivity.
Navarra’s surplus renewable energy—producing 142% more than it consumes—makes the region ideal for sustainable operations. The location also offers strategic interconnection potential via submarine cable corridors linking Bilbao, Zaragoza, and Barcelona. Once operational, the campus is projected to generate 2,600 direct and indirect jobs, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for regional economic and technological growth.
