Kyndryl’s data center in San Fernando de Henares, Madrid, originally developed by IBM, has been expanded and upgraded to meet Tier III compliance. The facility features two active server rooms totaling 800 m², with enhanced infrastructure designed to support a power density of 800 W/m². These upgrades allow for robust hybrid cloud services, disaster recovery, and enterprise workloads.
Key improvements included the addition of a new chiller for better climate control, replacement of secondary pumping systems, and a complete overhaul of electrical systems. New transformers, UPS units, STS switches, PDUs, and distribution components were installed to ensure energy efficiency and redundancy. Fire protection and security systems were also reinforced to meet critical facility standards.
