Nostrum is developing the largest data center in Bizkaia, situated in Zamudio, Spain, with an initial planned capacity of 30 MW. This facility is part of a broader initiative encompassing six data centers across Spain, which will collectively offer 500 MW of capacity with an additional 300 MW reserved for future expansions. The Zamudio data center is slated to become operational in phases, with the first 10 MW phase expected in April 2028, following construction commencement this year. The project aims to provide efficient and secure information storage for businesses and internet service providers, creating over 20 jobs. Strategically located in the Zamudio Technology Park, it benefits from proximity to potential clients and Bizkaia's position as a landing point for transatlantic subsea cables like Marea and Grace Hopper. The facility will occupy a two-hectare plot with a built area of 5,726 square meters and will have direct access to the grid via two underground power lines. Nostrum emphasizes a long-term vision of balancing innovation and sustainability, offering clients rapid market entry and scalability in Spain, positioning it as a future connectivity hub.
