Nostrum Evergreen, developed by Nostrum Group in Badajoz, Spain, is a significant hyperscale data center project with a planned capacity of 300MW. The initiative involves an estimated investment of €1.913 billion and is set to be executed in multiple phases starting in 2026. Located on the city's logistics platform, this project aims to establish Extremadura as a key hub within the European digital ecosystem.
The development is supported by the Junta de Extremadura and the Badajoz City Council, fostering a favorable environment for large-scale technological investments. Nostrum Evergreen is part of a national portfolio that includes other data center developments in Galicia, Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha, and País Vasco. These facilities are designed with high standards for energy efficiency, security, and scalability, integrating renewable energy sources from their inception.
The project is projected to create over 2,000 jobs during construction and more than 900 operational roles, including technical and highly qualified positions in areas such as electrical engineering, critical systems maintenance, IT, cooling, security, and telecommunications. It also includes a plan for collaboration with educational institutions to train specialized technical talent.
