Valfortec Data Center El Lobo

Valfortec Alicante, codenamed 'El Lobo', is an upcoming 30 MW edge data center located in Monforte del Cid, Spain, near Alicante. This facility is designed to serve services requiring proximity to end-users, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), and will also support advanced cloud services, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing. A key feature is its commitment to sustainability, with its energy consumption guaranteed by a nearby photovoltaic plant, complemented by wind power and battery storage. The project involves an investment of 302 million euros and is planned in three phases. Its strategic location offers advantages in international connectivity due to proximity to submarine cables and reduced cooling costs due to the Mediterranean climate. The data center is expected to create approximately 135 direct jobs upon operation.
