Guro Data Center, currently under development in Seoul, South Korea, is a significant addition to the country's digital infrastructure. The facility will have a total IT capacity of 19.8MW and span 19,225 square meters across four underground and eight above-ground floors. The project, initially planned by Lotte Engineering & Construction in 2021, is now being developed by Capstone Asset Management following a contractor change in 2024.
KT Cloud has been selected as the operator of the data center and will oversee its design, construction, and management. The company will also lease 15 percent of the facility for its own use. Construction began in February 2025, with completion expected by April 2028. SK Eco Plant is responsible for the building's construction, while KT Cloud will handle mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work.
The total cost of the project is estimated at 130 billion won ($914 million), with Capstone Asset Management investing 105 billion won ($738.2 million).
