Samsung SDS Chuncheon

Samsung SDS Chuncheon Data Center is a disaster recovery (DR) facility designed as a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC). It ensures safe data backup and stable operations through a low-energy, high-efficiency modular design with a 1.2 PUE rating. The center benefits from Chuncheon’s cooler climate, which averages 1.4°C lower than the capital region, and is located in an area with no recorded earthquakes, enhancing its resilience.

The facility spans 37,475㎡ with a gross floor area of 18,542㎡, featuring a rounded Y-shape exterior that optimizes natural airflow for cooling. The design accommodates the irregular site layout, allowing uninterrupted wind circulation to enhance server cooling efficiency. The data center is equipped with advanced automation technologies, ensuring continuous monitoring and operational reliability.

Samsung SDS has emphasized energy efficiency and environmental sustainability in the Chuncheon Data Center’s development.
