GreenScale has announced plans for a large-scale data center campus in southern Norway, following its acquisition of Tonstad DataPark. The facility, located in Sirdal, West Agder County (NO2), spans 420,000 square meters (4.5 million sq ft) and boasts 300MW of grid capacity, approved by Glitre Nett and Statnett.
The company aims to invest over €2.5 billion ($2.85bn) in developing a four-building campus, with the first phase expected to go live in 2027. GreenScale claims this will be Norway’s largest data center development, designed to support hyperscale, AI-ready workloads, and high-density computing.
GreenScale was launched by Digital Transformation Capital Partners (DTCP) last year, with a broader vision to develop 1GW of capacity across multiple regions. The Tonstad DataPark acquisition aligns with DTCP’s strategy of securing long-term access to renewable energy and grid stability, ensuring sustainable economic development.
