Fossefall has acquired the Fyresdal Datacenter, located in Fyresdal, Norway, as its first AI factory. The facility, originally developed by Norsk Data, has a current capacity of 5.5MW with potential for further expansion. This acquisition is a strategic step for Fossefall, which plans to establish Nordic-owned AI factories in Norway and Sweden with up to 500MW of capacity by 2030. The company aims to leverage Norway's hydropower resources to build "clean" AI infrastructure, contributing to national control over critical technology and creating export value. Fossefall was launched with the ambition to develop Europe's AI infrastructure by refining surplus renewable energy into high-tech AI capacity.
