The Sci-Tech Complex, located on Ssuk Island in Pyongyang, North Korea, is a significant center for scientific and technological advancement. Inaugurated on January 1, 2016, this expansive facility spans over 106,600 square meters and is designed in a distinctive atom shape, symbolizing the world of science.

It functions as a comprehensive e-library, digitizing and systematically organizing domestic and international scientific and technological information into databases, which are then disseminated through computer networks. The four-story building houses various e-reading areas, exhibition halls dedicated to different scientific sectors, areas for academic discussions, and spaces for temporary exhibitions and scientific exchange.

Key features include specialized halls for children, the history of sci-tech development, science films, and 4D simulations. The complex also incorporates applied science and technology exhibition halls, cutting-edge science displays, and areas for animation viewing and online lectures. An outdoor area features a science and technology tower, study sites, a fountain park, and an exhibition ground showcasing future energy and scientific amusement.

The Sci-Tech Complex is designed as an energy-saving, green structure, utilizing solar, geothermal, and other renewable energy sources for its lighting, cooling, and heating systems. It also includes a modern lodging house with 500 beds and a trolley-bus line for visitor convenience.

The complex embodies the national strategy of prioritizing science and technology, serving as a vital resource for scientists, technicians, and the general public to acquire knowledge and foster innovation.
