Fringe Africa has launched its first Edge data center, the Fringe Ikoyi Metro EDGE, located in Lagos, Nigeria. This facility provides 1MW of behind-the-meter capacity and can accommodate up to 72 racks.
The company emphasizes a "power-first deployment model," establishing direct connections to power plants and independent power producers. Fringe Africa's strategy is centered on distributed, power-efficient infrastructure, aiming to deliver colocation, enterprise-grade interconnection, AI inference, and sovereign computing to underserved regions and industries.
Founded by Vremudia Oghene-Ruemu and Andrew Agbo-Madaki, Fringe Africa plans to expand its presence with five facilities across regional cities by 2030. The company's approach is described as a deliberate, capital-disciplined investment in Edge infrastructure.
