Equinix MO2, located in Apodaca, Monterrey, Mexico, is an International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) data center designed to serve as a critical connectivity gateway between the U.S. and Mexico. This facility is part of a larger Equinix presence in the Monterrey area, which comprises two buildings totaling approximately 42,450 square feet (3,900 square meters).

MO2 provides businesses with access to rich ecosystems and diverse interconnection opportunities, including financial services, within both Mexico and the U.S. Its strategic location allows companies to optimize services by connecting to networks locally, avoiding the need to backhaul data internationally. The data center boasts a strong peering and network base, facilitating reliable content delivery. Key technical specifications include a minimum cabinet density of 6.0 kVA, N+1 UPS redundancy, and N+2 cooling redundancy. Security is comprehensive, featuring 24/7 on-site personnel, card and biometric readers, CCTV surveillance, and man traps.

Equinix MO2 is targeted for certifications including SOC 1/2 Type II, ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and PCI DSS. It also aims for LEED Silver certification and 100% renewable energy coverage through I-RECs from Mexican wind/solar sources. Amenities include staff breakrooms, engineer workshops, work kiosks, a customer lobby, and conference rooms. Services offered include colocation options like private cages and secure cabinets, alongside interconnection services such as cross connects and Equinix Fabric® (planned for Q4 2025).
