Open DC

Open DC PE2 is a purpose-built, next-generation data centre in Penang, Malaysia, designed to support high-demand workloads such as AI, machine learning, cloud services, and high-power density computing. It launches with 10MW of IT capacity and is scalable up to 30MW, offering up to 150kW per rack for extreme performance needs.

The facility holds a TIA-942 Tier 3 certification, ensuring high operational reliability and fault tolerance. Cooling is delivered through a mix of advanced air, chilled water, and direct-to-chip systems, achieving a PUE of under 1.5. Sustainability is a core focus, with on-site solar potential and renewable energy agreements in place.

Strategically located within Penang’s digital ecosystem, PE2 is home to the Penang Internet Exchange (powered by DE-CIX Malaysia) and is connected to major telecom providers including TM, Maxis, Extreme Broadband, and PDC Telco. Its location offers quick access to highways, industrial zones, and Penang International Airport, ensuring low-latency connectivity and strong global reach.

The data centre also meets ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS compliance standards, providing robust security and data integrity. With its combination of scalability, efficiency, sustainability, and connectivity, Open DC PE2 is positioned as a key hub for hyperscale innovation in Northern Malaysia.
