The facility is designed to utilize renewable energy sources, addressing the significant power demands of hyperscale operations. This project marks Marubeni's entry into the hyperscale data center development industry, with a focus on contributing to a decarbonized society by providing renewable energy solutions. Demand for hyperscale data centers is increasing due to remote work, cloud service adoption, and the growth of markets like generative AI. Yondr Group has a global presence in hyperscale data center development, ownership, and operation across eight countries. Marubeni will leverage its network of local stakeholders in Japan to advance the development and lead the planning for renewable energy supply for this project.
