Colt Technology Services

Colt Minoh City is a significant hyperscale data center development located in Minoh City, Osaka, Japan. This project is a joint venture between Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) and ESR, a prominent real asset owner and manager in the Asia-Pacific region.

The campus is planned to have a total capacity of 130 MW. The first phase, comprising 65 MW, is being designed and built by the ESR–Colt DCS joint venture and will be operated by Colt DCS. Strategically positioned in APAC's second-largest data center market, this facility is intended to support Japan's increasing adoption of public cloud services, drive digital transformation initiatives, and facilitate the growth of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.

Site preparation is currently in progress, with the construction of the initial data center building slated to commence in 2027. The facility is expected to be ready for service by late 2029. The joint venture leverages Colt DCS' extensive experience in data center development and operations in Japan, alongside ESR's local development expertise and supply chain capabilities.

The Minoh site encompasses approximately 140,000 square meters of land. The development emphasizes ESG principles and local urban regeneration, with plans to enhance local road connectivity and introduce community amenities, including an international school, a local park, retail spaces, and shared facilities. The joint venture is targeting LEED Gold certification for the development.
