The Hi-Res Shikamachi Data Center is located in Shikamachi, Ishikawa Prefecture, and was expanded in August 2022 with the launch of its second facility. It is one of Japan’s largest GPU-dedicated data centers, built to meet growing demand for AI and deep learning workloads.
The facility is designed for energy efficiency, using a “tiered roof” passive cooling system that eliminates the need for air conditioning. This approach reduces cooling power consumption by up to 90%, supporting Hi-Res’s carbon reduction goals.
It also runs on “Kagayaki GREEN RE100,” a renewable energy supply from Hokuriku Electric Power that meets RE100 standards with zero CO₂ emissions. This enables clients to meet their green energy targets while accessing high-performance GPU resources.
The Shikamachi site is a core part of Hi-Res’s GPUSOROBAN cloud platform, offering low-cost, scalable compute to industries across Japan.
