NEC Hiroshima Data Center

The NEC Hiroshima Data Center is strategically located in Hiroshima, Japan, offering a robust and cost-effective environment for business continuity. Situated at an elevation of 250 meters on a strong foundation (N-value over 50), it is positioned outside of liquefaction risk zones and designated hazard areas, minimizing risks from earthquakes, floods, and landslides. Its location is approximately 10km from the coast and over 7km from the Ota River, and over 100km from nuclear power plants and 70km from active volcanoes.

Accessibility is a key feature, with the data center being about a 30-minute bus or car ride from central Hiroshima and approximately 10 minutes from the Hiroshima-Nishi-Fukushin IC and Itsukaichi IC. The facility boasts multi-layered security, including NEC's world-class facial recognition technology, IC card authentication, and over five stages of security from entry to server rack access. The building is a 5-story seismic structure with a floor load capacity of 700kg/m2. Electrical systems include dual high-voltage power feeds, redundant generators capable of 72 hours of operation at full load without refueling, and UPS systems providing over 10 minutes of power. The data center supports carrier-free connectivity and features advanced fire suppression systems with ultra-sensitive smoke detectors and nitrogen gas. It holds certifications such as Privacy Mark and ISO/IEC 27001.
