Vega Data Center

The Vega Data Center, located in Venice, Italy, is a new government-operated facility launched to serve the Municipality of Venice, Azienda Zero, and the Province of Verona. This significant investment, costing €4.5 million and largely funded by the European Union, aims to improve data and information management security while generating substantial cost savings for the participating public entities.

The facility spans 220 sqm and houses 72 racks. It is situated within the Lybra building at the Vegad Science and Technology Park in Marghera. A key feature of the Vega Data Center is its commitment to sustainability, with plans for it to be largely powered by solar panels installed on the building's roof.

The data center is segmented into five distinct areas. Three of these areas are designated for use by other public organizations within the Veneto region, underscoring its role as a shared resource. The Vega Data Center will operate in conjunction with the existing regional data center in Padua.
