Unidata is developing UniCenter, a new 20MW, carrier-neutral, Tier IV-quality data center in Rome, Italy. This facility, spanning 140,000 sq ft (3,000 sqm) and designed to house over 3,000 cabinets, will be powered by renewable energy sources, including approximately 2MW of photovoltaic capacity. The project represents a significant investment of €57 million, with Unidata holding a 25% stake and Azimut Libera Impressa holding 75%. UniCenter will operate on a wholesale-only basis, serving both Italian and international customers and offering high-power zones for AI applications. Unidata will manage the operations of UniCenter and will also continue to operate its existing data centers in Rome and Milan. The new facility is strategically located approximately 200 meters from an existing Unidata data center and benefits from the presence of 7 national network operators and the Unitirreno submarine cable landing station.
