Planetel Padua 3

Planetel is constructing a new 1,200 square meter data center in Padua, Italy, designed by In-Site. This brownfield project, an investment of approximately €7 million, is a redevelopment of a former industrial complex and aims to strengthen Planetel's infrastructure in Northeast Italy. The facility will offer office spaces and client areas.

Technically, the data center is designed to Tier III requirements, featuring 2N redundancy for generators, electrical, and mechanical systems. It will have an IT load of 1 MW and a capacity for up to 120 racks. Connectivity is provided by a proprietary dual optical ring at 2x400 Gb/s. The design includes a PUE of less than 1.23, zero-water consumption cooling systems, and integration with rooftop photovoltaic installations. Security is managed by a 24/7 manned Network Operations Center (NOC) with advanced surveillance and dedicated personnel. The data center will be interconnected with major operators and the VSIX Padua and MIX Milan nodes, supporting an open and high-performance ecosystem. It is conceived as an edge infrastructure and an innovation laboratory, ready to host new technologies, AI applications, and advanced digital services.
