Comtel Florence

Comtel Florence is a planned data center located in Figline Valdarno, Italy, southeast of Florence. It is intended to be part of the H2-Era Green Valley, a larger renewable energy complex. The facility is designed as a 'zero-impact' data center, with its primary power source being an 84MW solar plant. Waste heat generated by the data center's servers will be repurposed for food production facilities within the complex. The site was formerly occupied by a Bekaert factory. Comtel S.p.A., an IT services provider founded in 1992 and headquartered in Milan, is co-developing the data center. This facility, if built, will be Comtel's first to be directly operated. The Florence data center market is currently smaller compared to national hubs like Milan and Rome.
