Range IDC Batam

Range IDC Batam is a significant US$5 billion artificial intelligence (AI) data center project planned by China-based Range Intelligent Computing Technology Company Limited (RangeIDC). The proposed campus will occupy a 30-hectare site in Nongsa, Batam, Indonesia. This venture marks RangeIDC's first international expansion, leveraging its position as one of China's largest data center companies listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

PT Equator Gate System Batam (EGSB), an Indonesian AI data center developer backed by RangeIDC, will undertake the construction. Power supply for the facility is secured through a Power Purchase Agreement between PT PLN Batam, a subsidiary of Indonesia’s state electricity company, and EGSB.

This investment is anticipated to accelerate Batam's transition into a technology, innovation, and digitalization-based economy. It is expected to stimulate growth in related sectors such as cloud computing, semiconductor ecosystems, and AI services, while creating approximately 700 to 800 professional jobs. The Batam Free Trade Zone and Free Port Authority (BP Batam) is committed to fast-tracking execution to ensure the project's realization and support Batam's transformation into a global digital hub.
