Sify Technologies Ltd has commenced construction on a new data center and cable landing station (CLS) in Visakhapatnam, India. Located in the Rushikonda–Madhurawada IT Park, the facility will be developed in two phases on 3.6 acres by Sify Infinit Spaces, the company's data center subsidiary.
The data center is expected to deliver a total capacity of 50MW, while the CLS will be accessible to multiple cable operators. This development aims to bolster sea-cable connectivity and AI infrastructure, positioning Visakhapatnam as a significant digital gateway for India.
The investment for this project is reported to be approximately $169 million. Sify Technologies operates over a dozen data centers across India and has plans for further expansion in Visakhapatnam.
