Google is developing a significant data center presence in Rambilli, India, with a campus spanning 174.8 acres. This facility is a key component of Google's broader $15 billion investment in Andhra Pradesh, focused on building data centers and digital infrastructure to create an "AI hub" in the Visakhapatnam region.
The project, operated by Google's subsidiary Raiden Infotech India Private Limited, is slated for groundbreaking in April 2026. The Rambilli site is one of three linked data center campuses planned around Visakhapatnam, collectively aiming for 1GW of capacity. The development includes the installation of high-capacity submarine cables, dedicated cable landing stations, and metro fiber lines, enhancing telecommunications infrastructure.
Commissioning of these data centers is anticipated by July 2028. This initiative aligns with Google Cloud's existing operations in India, including regions in Mumbai and Delhi, and its ongoing efforts to expand cloud services and subsea cable connectivity in the country.
