BOM data centers are part of the ap-south-1 AWS region: Asia Pacific (Mumbai).
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is undertaking a major data center development in Palava, Mumbai, India. The project, located within Lodha Industrial Park, will feature six buildings, with four dedicated to data center operations and two for supporting infrastructure. The planned capacity for these data centers is 473MW.
This initiative is part of AWS's broader commitment to expanding its cloud infrastructure in India, with a significant investment of $429.8 million allocated for this specific development. The company acquired the land in late 2024. The Mumbai region, launched in 2016, has seen substantial investment from AWS, and this new facility will further bolster its presence in one of India's key digital hubs. Navi Mumbai is already a growing data center market, with other major operators present in the vicinity.
