NTT Global Data Centers has inaugurated its new Kolkata 1 Data Center, a significant 40 MW facility located in Kolkata, India. This state-of-the-art data center, featuring two cutting-edge data halls, is part of NTT Global Data Centers' expansion in the eastern Indian market. The project broke ground in 2023, with the first phase initially planned for a 6 MW IT load capacity. The facility is situated on a 7.5-acre plot in the Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub area of New Town, Kolkata. NTT Global Data Centers operates in over 20 countries and currently manages 18 data centers across India, with a total installed capacity exceeding 265 MW, and plans to scale this to 400 MW. Kolkata is recognized as an emerging market for digital infrastructure, with West Bengal actively developing its digital connectivity to support the growing data center industry.
