Karatzis Group Kastro

The Karatzis Group is undertaking a substantial €240 million data center development in Kastro, Greece, located in the Municipality of Orchomenos, approximately 100 km northwest of Athens. This expansive campus, situated off the PATHE (E75) motorway on the Ampelia site, will feature seven distinct data center buildings. Upon full buildout, the facility is projected to offer a total power capacity of 430MW, with each individual building designed for a 61.49MW load. The project encompasses 342,465 sqm (3.68 million sq ft) of space. Design and initial studies commenced in 2025. Construction is planned in three stages over 18 months, focusing on site preparation, infrastructure, and equipment installation. The data center is strategically located outside heritage and archaeologically sensitive zones, aligning with Greece's growing investment in data infrastructure to meet increasing demand for low-latency connectivity within the Mediterranean region and the EU.
