Freyenstein Data Center

The Freyenstein Data Center is a proposed 700MW AI hub project located outside Freyenstein, Germany, by NOYA Group Holding and Serban DC. The development, estimated to cost €25 billion, is planned to span 1.44 sq km and include up to 20 buildings and a substation. The project's proximity to a 380kV power line was a key factor in site selection. Developers claim it will create 1,200 local jobs. However, the proposal has encountered significant opposition from local residents concerned about its scale, potential impact on water consumption, traffic, and the preservation of the local environment and community character. Negotiations with the energy supplier regarding power line connection are ongoing. Construction could commence by late 2029 if planning permission is granted.
