Baden Cloud Lahr

E‑Werk Mittelbaden and IT services provider Leitwerk are jointly developing a new Baden Cloud data center in the startkLahr Airport & Business Park in Lahr, Baden‑Württemberg, near the French border.

The €16 million (~$18.6 million) project has already broken ground and is scheduled to go live in 2027. The facility will span 600 sqm (~6,460 sq ft), deliver 1 MW of IT capacity, and accommodate up to 230 racks. A rooftop solar array is planned to supplement its power supply, aligning with regional sustainability goals.

This will be the second Baden Cloud site for the partners, following their Appenweier data center, which opened around 2020. That site, also built with E‑Werk in a 50:50 joint venture, features redundant connectivity including microwave radio links to ensure uptime during fiber outages.

Leitwerk, part of the Q‑Fox Group, will operate the Lahr facility to serve a broad customer base , from freelancers to large corporations , with colocation, cloud, and connectivity services via its Link2Air network. The location within the redeveloped Lahr Airfield business park is expected to strengthen the region’s digital infrastructure and support local economic growth.
