- New Stage: Announced
Polarise AI Factory Amberg is a new AI data center facility being developed by German cloud and data center firm Polarise in Amberg, Germany. The site, located at Senderstr 96, is a conversion of the former Wertachtal shortwave transmission building and adjacent land.
Scheduled for a mid-2027 launch, the facility will initially offer 65MW of capacity, with plans to expand to a potential 120MW. The project emphasizes technological innovation and sustainability, aiming to provide the AI infrastructure needed for global competitiveness.
A significant aspect of the Polarise AI Factory Amberg is its commitment to renewable energy. WV Energie AG is developing a 70 MWp photovoltaic installation, with plans for an additional 31MWp of solar capacity, a 21MW wind farm, and a battery storage system to meet the data center's energy demands. This integration of renewable energy sources aims to demonstrate that digital progress and environmental responsibility can coexist and mutually strengthen each other.
