NTT Global Data Centers is set to establish a groundbreaking 500MW data center campus in the Rhein-Selz Park, Nierstein, located approximately 50km south of Frankfurt, Germany. This ambitious project will be situated on the historical site of the former Anderson Barracks, which has served the US armed forces from 1953 to around 2009. The proposed development promises to be a significant investment for the region, with an estimated value of €5 billion.
The campus is expected to span across 70 hectares, leveraging the expansive 750,000 sqm of the former military base. NTT's vision for this facility is not only to enhance their current portfolio, which includes four existing data center sites across Frankfurt, but also to create one of the world's largest data center campuses. This initiative reflects NTT's commitment to expanding its global footprint and providing high-performance, secure IT services to a diverse customer base.
With a focus on sustainability and innovation, the new data center campus is poised to set a benchmark in the industry. It will complement NTT's existing data centers in Munich, Berlin, and Hamburg, further solidifying the company's presence in Germany's robust digital infrastructure landscape.
