Cheops Technology’s data center in Canéjan, near Bordeaux, is a Tier III-class facility designed to support flexible, high-performance cloud services for SMEs. Integrated into the company’s headquarters, it reflects Cheops’ strategic shift toward on-demand IT infrastructure and green computing.
The site includes three white rooms with rack capacities reaching up to 20 kVA each. Power is supplied via a dedicated 15,000V transformer with dual electrical feeds, backed by a 650 kVA diesel generator with 6,000 liters of fuel, providing up to 48 hours of autonomy. The initial Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) is 2.3, with a target of 1.6–1.7 as utilization scales.
Built on HP’s Converged Infrastructure architecture, the data center leverages Smart Grid energy optimization, virtual resource pools, FlexFabric connectivity, and centralized orchestration. These technologies reduce energy consumption by nearly 50%, achieving a PUE of 1.5 compared to the European average of 2.8.
