Data Tank Nordic Oy

Data Tank Nordic is a significant data center project planned for the Mustikkakangas Industrial Area in Utajärvi, Finland. Developed by AmpTank in partnership with Greensky Energy, this 10-hectare facility is projected to have a capacity of 100MW and will incorporate battery energy storage systems. The estimated investment for the project ranges from €700-900 million. Technical designs and permitting are currently in progress, with construction anticipated to commence in early 2026 and the data center becoming operational in 2027. Utajärvi was chosen for its favorable location, climate, availability of land, and the municipality's cooperative approach, alongside existing and expanding renewable energy production opportunities. AmpTank, a Swiss-Finnish company founded in 2021, specializes in battery energy storage systems and this marks their first data center venture, with plans for two additional data centers totaling 400MW in Finland and Denmark.
