Nordic data center firm Scale42 is planning a new AI-enabled data center development in Kitee, Finland. The project is slated for a 10-hectare plot within the Puhos industrial area.

Construction is anticipated to commence next year, with a projected launch date between 2027 and 2028. Scale42 highlights Finland's clean and reliable electricity as a key factor for deploying AI equipment responsibly.

The Puhos brownfield site offers an existing industrial area with potential for significant power supply scalability and efficient natural water cooling. Excess heat recovery options are also available, including a connection to a district heating network.

This development aims to contribute to Kitee's transition to a digital economy and create high-skill digital career paths within the local community.
