FCDC is planning a 100MW data center in Lahti, Finland. The facility will be built on a 10-hectare industrial plot purchased from the City of Lahti’s business premises company, Spatium, for €6 million. The company has informed city officials that it will submit a building permit application by autumn.
The site is located near Lahti Energia’s power plants, allowing the data center’s condensation heat to be utilized in the district heating network. City officials are optimistic about the project, expecting it to create hundreds of jobs during construction and 100–150 permanent positions once operational. Indirect employment could reach nearly a thousand jobs.
