QTS, backed by Blackstone, is planning a massive data center campus in Forssa, Finland, on more than 100 hectares of land in the Ratasmäki industrial area. The city has signed a preliminary agreement for the site and is advancing zoning changes to enable the development.
The project is still in early stages, but reports suggest it could reach up to 450MW of capacity, making it one of the largest data centers in Europe. Its location offers direct access to Finland’s national power grid via nearby transmission lines, supporting the high energy demands of hyperscale operations.
Environmental impact assessments and zoning approvals are underway, with the city aiming to finalize them in the near term. The development is expected to create hundreds of jobs during construction and operation, boosting local industry and expertise.
QTS is working with Brunswick Real Estate as its local development partner, with Deloitte advising on the project. Once complete, the Forssa campus will significantly expand QTS’ European footprint alongside its sites in the UK, Netherlands, and Spain.
