Income Egypt, a subsidiary of the IGI group, is set to invest approximately $280 million in a new data center facility located in Borg El Arab, a city situated 52km southwest of Alexandria, Egypt. The project is planned to be developed in multiple phases over a three-year period. The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy will initially supply 100MW of power, with plans to increase this to 400MW in subsequent phases. This initiative aligns with Egypt's national strategy to become a significant digital and subsea cable hub connecting Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, supporting the localization of the data center industry and advanced technology.
