The Skive Data Center, located in GreenLab's green industrial park in Spøttrup, Denmark, is a 100 MW IT-load facility developed by CA Group. This significant investment aims to integrate large-scale digital infrastructure into a flexible, electrified energy system.

The data center is purpose-built for AI and high-performance computing workloads, with a facility size of 45,000 m². It directly integrates with GreenLab's renewable microgrid and sector-coupled infrastructure, enabling real-time flexibility and surplus heat reuse. A key feature is its hybrid backup system, combining battery storage with sustainable fuel power generation, designed to enhance grid stability and provide resilience.

Traditionally, data centers are large electricity consumers; however, the Skive Data Center is designed as an active contributor to the energy system. It will be directly connected to GreenLab's energy park, running on renewable power from wind and solar, with a dual-fed connection to the national grid. This facility will support energy balance and flexibility, and share surplus heat, demonstrating how digital infrastructure and the green transition can reinforce each other.

CA Group chose GreenLab for its pre-zoned land, fast permitting, and available electrical infrastructure, accelerating time-to-market. The location offers access to clean, cost-efficient electricity and a stable power grid. The project is on track for full operation in 2027 and will create approximately 30 full-time positions on-site.
