Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has acquired 98 hectares from Esbjerg Municipality in the area Oksvang east of Esbjerg. The plot is located directly next to a large plot of land owned by Meta (214 hectares), that was acquired for data center use all the way back in 2018.

The purchase was announced on September 24 2026 and is conditional on CIP being able to get a grid connection of at least 200 MW within 36 months of takeover, from the national grid operator Energinet. 48 months from takeover the construction must be started and the first phase is expected to be of at least 110.250 m2.
If a grid connection agreement has not been established by December 31 2030, CIP can demand that Esbjerg Kommune repurchases the land.

The sale was based on a tender from Esbjerg Kommune, with a minimum sales price of 268 DKK per square meter. CIP won the tender and hence we expect the sales price to be around 262 mio DKK ($39,5m) incl. VAT.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is also involved in the near-by development of Dansk Data Center 1 (DDC1), spearheaded by the real estate developer Thylander. It is unclear if this site will be developed under the same brand, as for example Dansk Data Center 2 (DDC2).
