Microsoft Køge Campus, located in Køge, Denmark, is an expanding data center campus. The current project represents Phase 3 of the overall development plan.
The campus will consist of two distinct data centers on the same property: CPH03 and CPH04. CPH03 will feature a total of five data halls, with the existing construction (Phase 1+2) covering the initial three. Phase 3 of CPH03 includes two additional data halls, referred to as Colo 4 and 5.
CPH04, situated south of CPH03, is a new data center that will include an administration building and three data halls. Both new data halls and the administration building will be equipped with backup power systems.
The backup power systems are diesel-powered and are subject to environmental regulations. The existing environmental approval covers a backup power system for CPH03 with 12 diesel generators, each with an installed capacity of 7.5 MW, and a separate system for the administration building with a 1.21 MW diesel generator.
Phase 3 expansion includes an additional 26 diesel generators, each with an installed capacity of 7.5 MW, for CPH04, along with a separate 1.21 MW diesel generator for its administration building. The total installed capacity for the Phase 3 backup power systems is 195.4 MW, in addition to the existing 90.8 MW for CPH03.
