The HiCloud Lingang UDC, located in Nanhui New Town, Shanghai, China, is a pioneering offshore wind power fusion data center. With a total investment of 1.6 billion yuan and a construction scale of 24 megawatts, it represents a significant advancement in green computing infrastructure.

The data center integrates two key technologies: natural seawater cooling and direct green electricity supply from offshore wind power. This dual approach allows it to leverage the ocean's cold source for efficient cooling, significantly reducing energy consumption compared to land-based data centers. Servers are housed in submarine data cabins, utilizing seawater as a natural cooling medium through a system of copper pipes.

The project is designed to achieve a green power supply rate exceeding 95%. It is strategically located 10 kilometers offshore in the Lingang area, with a water depth of 10 meters, and within 20 kilometers of major operator port computer rooms. The data center is being built in two phases, with the first phase demonstration project planned for 2.3 megawatts.

As part of Shanghai's strategy to build an "international digital capital" and align with the "15th Five-Year Plan," the Lingang UDC aims to create a new highland of computing power. It supports the growing demand for AI and the digital economy by providing a sustainable and efficient computing infrastructure. Companies like China Telecom and Shanghai Yidian are already deploying computing power clusters within the facility, focusing on areas such as AI, liquid cooling, and maritime communications.
