The TELUS Rimouski Data Centre, opened in 2012, is a Tier III, LEED Gold certified facility located in Quebec, Canada. It is designed for maximum reliability and security, offering world-class managed cloud-based solutions. The data centre boasts over 80% greater energy efficiency than traditional facilities, with a PUE rating of 1.15. It utilizes innovative cooling systems, including natural cooling for most of the year and a closed-loop system that is 180 times more efficient than traditional methods. The facility is also highly secure and located over 250 kilometers from major urban centers, making it suitable for core or disaster recovery sites. Advanced flywheel technology provides backup power during disruptions. TELUS is currently expanding the Rimouski site to house up to 500 Nvidia Hopper GPUs for AI workloads, with plans for further expansion. The facility is connected to TELUS' national IP network and powered by 99% renewable energy sources.
