Exaion, a subsidiary of French energy firm EDF, has launched the Bellevue data center in Sherbrooke, Quebec. The facility is housed in a renovated convent and spans 4,000 square feet with 780kW of Tier II capacity.
Bellevue hosts North America’s first quantum computer from French startup Quandela, alongside Canada’s first quantum key distribution test bench by Numana. It also supports PINQ²’s supercomputing infrastructure, featuring over 5,800 vCPUs and 160 GPUs powered by Intel Xeon Ice Lake and Nvidia A100 chips.
The site provides heating and hot water to the surrounding Humano District, using waste heat recovery and eco-responsible design. It reflects Exaion’s commitment to decentralized, low-carbon digital infrastructure and advanced computing use cases.
