IREN Canal Flats

IREN's Canal Flats data center is located in the Canadian Rockies, British Columbia, on a 10-acre freehold site. This facility operates with a power capacity of 30MW and is powered entirely by renewable energy, primarily hydroelectricity. It is connected to the BC Hydro transmission network via a 69kV substation owned by IREN.

The site features dual physical fiber paths for robust connectivity and includes a fabrication workshop that supports other IREN facilities. It provides approximately 20 full-time local jobs, contributing to the economic growth of the Canal Flats community.

IREN is committed to sustainability and local engagement, purchasing from and contracting with local businesses whenever feasible. By utilizing excess renewable energy from BC Hydro, the facility helps balance the electricity market and supports lower rates for other customers in the region.
