Synapse Olds Campus

Synapse Olds Campus is a proposed gigawatt-scale, off-grid data center development located in Olds, Alberta, Canada. The campus is planned to feature ten 100MW buildings, totaling approximately two million square feet of space. It will be powered by a closed-cycle natural gas system, eliminating reliance on the local energy grid, and will utilize a closed-loop design for cooling. The site was chosen for its direct access to natural gas infrastructure, fiber connectivity, and strategic location between Calgary, Edmonton, and Red Deer. The first phase is anticipated to be ready by mid-2026. The facility is designed to support high-density liquid and hybrid cooling solutions and is built to Tier 3 standards for uptime and reliability. Security measures include perimeter controls and 24/7 monitoring. The project aims to create over 1,000 long-term, high-skilled technology jobs and contribute significantly to the local tax base.
