FingerMotion Inc., through its planned acquisition of Newbit Technology Inc., intends to develop the Bantry Data Site near Tilley, Newell County, Alberta, Canada, into a data center campus supporting artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC). The proposed acquisition, valued at US$2.3 million, includes the site and associated infrastructure, with a reported target capacity of 9.9 MW. FingerMotion is pursuing the project in partnership with BlueFlare Energy as part of its strategy to expand into AI and HPC infrastructure.

The site is an energy-advantaged, behind-the-meter location adjacent to the Campus Energy gas plant, potentially supporting power infrastructure independent of conventional utility development timelines. Previous plans for the property involved cryptocurrency mining by Newbit Technology, which applied in 2022 to install six natural-gas-fired generators. Existing site improvements and infrastructure include a surface lease, pipeline and metering infrastructure, and permits issued by the County of Newell. FingerMotion's acquisition documentation states that the existing generating equipment was excluded from the transaction and was to be removed before closing.
