In 2007, XMission became the first Internet service provider in Utah to upgrade to 100% renewable energy by purchasing enough Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) to offset its entire carbon footprint. In 2017, XMission's data center became Energy Star certified and received a perfect Energy Star score of 100.
