InterLAN-IX is the national Internet Exchange platform of Romania and the largest neutral IXP in the country. Operated by the non-profit Interlan Association since 2005, it provides a robust and distributed infrastructure that connects networks across all major Romanian regions. With points of presence in cities such as Bucharest, Constanța, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara, Craiova, Arad, Suceava, and Târgu Secuiesc, as well as international locations in Frankfurt and Sofia, InterLAN-IX facilitates direct traffic exchange between over 130 autonomous systems (ASNs). The platform plays a strategic role in strengthening internet resilience, regional interconnection, and cooperation among ISPs, content providers, and institutional networks.
